Some Game Reviews

Need for Speed : Carbon
I just got Carbon for the XBOX 360. I finished the game on the PC version back when it first came out. A friend of mine told me that I could jump on XBOX Live and I would have all the cars to be able to race online without having to finish the single player game all over again. This, sadly, is not true. You do get the Lamborghini, but it can't keep up with the Quattro Le Mans. Forget about it. I have a decent PC and I run a steady 60 fps at good settings on the PC version. On the XBOX, while the FPS is sometimes decent, it noticeably drops to something like 20 to 25 fps when you have several cars being shown and buildings and whatnot. This of course is quite annoying on Live when you're in a race. The game slows down and speeds up as you go along. It's still hella fun, don't get me wrong. Just annoying at times. Some of the annoyingness goes away if I win the race. Good game. I think better than Most Wanted. Though I still race Most Wanted on the PC online. Good game.

Call of Duty 3
I'm totally addicted to playing this game on XBOX Live. I'm no good with a controller in FPS games, but I've got this handy dandy keyboard/mouse adapter called the XFPS. The mouse response is pretty lame, but you can adjust some of the in game sensitivity and use a mouse that has an on-the-fly DPI adjustment to make the game playable. I do pretty good with the scope and Kar. Usually about twice as many kills than deaths. I really enjoy it though there are a TON of glitches in the game. I rarely get on LIVE and play a game where someone isn't shooting from behind a wall or from 400 feet in the air or some nonsense. I can handle it though. Just gotta know what areas to avoid when these n00bs join your game. I really enjoy this game. It's the most fun I've had on the 360 since Burnout Revenge.

Prey
On the PC, this game is OK, but pretty much nobody plays it online. For good reason too. It's laggy like a mofo. On XBOX Live 360, it's no different. I get decent FPS and the game looks great ont he 360 in single player. Jump on LIVE though and you have other players teleporting and jumping around. Don't get me wrong. I usually win...but uhhh...it kinda sucks. It's still alot of fun though. I highly recommend this game single player. When it first came out, I thought "Game of the Year" material. But with a really terrible multiplayer online experience, it's not going to happen.

MOTOGP O6
I bought this game about 2 months ago and have yet to open it. Video I've seen of it looks promising though. Online races should be fun. Next.

Gears of War
It's as awesome as everyone says. Very good game. Single player is fantastic though feels a bit repetitious at times. Multiplayer online could be fun if I were better at it. I don't like the game modes on LIVE. I would prefer a 12 or 16 player DM style game. As it is, all the modes have you dying and waiting around alot. I like a faster paced game. But oh well. As long as I don't die, I'm happy. Very fun for awhile until I keep dying. Then I usually get bored and quit. Still, highly recommended.

I wish I had Quake 4 and FEAR for the 360. I have both of these games on the PC and enjoy them. I would like to experienc them both on LIVE. Quake 4 is pretty cheap but FEAR is still expensive.
